The February/March 2007 Issue of Windsurfing
Magazine included an article on the Midwest
Speed Quest titled "Speed Showdown: Best in the
Midwest".

The current outright Speed Sailing Record of 49.09 knots
(about 56.45 mph) was set by Antoine
Albeau of France on March 5, 2008. This was
an average speed over a 500 meter race course, set on the
man-made canal in Saintes Maries de la Mer,
France, nicknamed the "The French
Trench".
