Then these tapes are for you. Cynthia Tobias is an authority on children and how they learn, especially strong-willed children. We have two tapes at ECES that you may borrow. One is a video tape, "The Way They Learn," which helps parents as well as teachers to understand the varying ways that children recieve the information that we would like them to learn. Another tape we have is an audio tape, "You Can't Make Me (But I Can Be Persuaded)," which deals with the strong-willed child and how he thinks. Cynthia has a whimsical yet sincere way of detailing the minds of children. In her tape "You Can't Make Me," she gives you a check list to see if your child is indeed strong-willed. You are encouraged to come to the office and borrow one or both of these tapes.
