Marilyn Kratz

Education - BA in Elementary Education with Certification in Special Education from Yankton College, 1980; MA in Elementary Education from University of South Dakota, 1990

Employment - Retired after 31 years as an elementary teacher

Affiliations - Delta Kappa Gamma, SDEA, NEA, Yankton Area Writers’ Club, Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators

Writing Credits - 2 picture books (now out of print); about 280 magazine stories in about 50 publications, most of the latter in Highlights for Children magazine and magazines in the Cricket group; poetry in South Dakota Pasque Petals publication as well as children’s magazines; articles in Once Upon A Time writers’ publication and SCBWI Bulletin

Conference presentations - Featured speaker at conference sponsored by Yankton Area Writers’ Club, conducted three workshops for children’s writers, two times a member of the faculty at the Writer’s Workshop sponsored by the Highlights Foundation at the Chautauqua Institute in New York
